About Heather Corwin, PhD
Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Heather Corwin brings a rich and diverse background to her therapeutic work, creating an approach rooted in curiosity, compassion, and unconditional positive regard. She works with individuals seeking a more physical, embodied experience in therapy, as well as actors and creatives looking to deepen their self-
awareness and emotional expression.
Her integrative approach blends mental health expertise with body awareness, helping clients explore how sensations, impulses, and emotions shape everyday actions. People are wonderfully complex—our body sensations, feelings, thoughts, and expectations all converge to influence how we experience and engage with the world.
Dr. Corwin’s research and expertise center on emotional intelligence, including empathy, emotional regulation, perception, and communication. These skills empower clients to connect with others intentionally and authentically. She also draws on Attachment Theory, which highlights how early relationships with caregivers form the blueprint for how we relate to others. With her background in the performing arts, Dr. Corwin infuses therapy with playfulness, creativity, and mindfulness, making the process engaging as well as transformative.
Therapeutic work with Dr. Corwin focuses on exploring your world through a broad set of techniques, helping you uncover and redefine your most authentic self. Developing a deeper relationship with yourself and others opens the door to the awareness and skills needed to live life on your terms, with greater joy and fulfillment.
Dr. Corwin is the author of a forthcoming book on mental health for actors, contracted with Routledge Publishing. A book chapter she authored is in press with Routledge for a book on Stanislavski and Psychology called Somatic Psychology and Chekhov: A Perfect Pairing.
